Gorilla Sculpt

The story

I wanted to learn to sculpt in Blender. I'd already poked around the program, played a bit with the sculpting side, but never seriously, never in depth. So I decided to push it a little further.

Gorillas have always caught my eye, you've probably noticed that in other projects. I found an image on Google that I liked and went from there. I looked up references to understand the anatomy, and this sculpt came out of it.

It took me a day. It was more practice than anything, to see how far I could get and how well I understood the tool. I'm not a modeler, it's not what I do. But I realized Blender has some impressive sculpting capabilities. For a final production asset I'm not there, my knowledge doesn't go that far, but for pulling something together fast and leaving something interesting, it's great.
